The OSCE Mission in Kosovo is looking for a Senior Coordination and Reporting Officer.
General Minimum Requirements
- Excellent physical condition
- Possession of a valid automobile driving license and ability to drive using manual transmission
- Ability to cope with physical hardship and willingness to work extra hours and in an environment with limited infrastructure
Field of Expertise Requirements
- First-level university degree in political sciences, international relations, public policy, law, international human rights law or other human rights related fields
- Experience working with human rights, minority or gender issues
- Demonstrable organizational, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in drafting reports
Education:
First-level university degree in a relevant field
Experience:
Minimum 6 years of relevant professional experience
Mission Specific Requirement
- Experience in multi-stakeholder coordination and liaison functions;
- Experience in reporting on topical human rights themes for inclusion in policy briefs and for use in Department planning;
- Experience in working in the relevant areas of expertise: human rights, minority rights, gender issues, peacebuilding, and conflict/post-conflict settings;
- Ability to operate Windows applications, including word processing, database programs, Excel and other Windows-based programs;
- Willingness to work as part of a large team and engage with people of varied cultures, religious and political backgrounds while maintaining a collegial and respectful approach;
- Ability to address and diffuse inter-personal conflict within teams;
- Experience in proofreading, editing and quality control;
- Ability to work under pressure within tight deadlines and maneuver through competing priorities;
- Excellent organizational skills;
- Excellent communication skills and professional fluency in written and spoken English.
Desirable:
- Project cycle management experience;
- Knowledge of the OSCE administrative regulations, rules, policies and practices;
- Experience in the Western Balkans region;
- Knowledge of local languages.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Working closely with the Department’s three Sections and five Regional Centres to ensure effective coordination, communication and collaboration across the Department;
- Managing Mission-wide tasks by distributing work within the Department, providing input, overseeing deliverables and deadlines, and collecting all relevant approvals;
- Ensuring timely preparation of briefing notes and other necessary material for meetings, conferences, and seminars attended by the Director;
- Proofreading and editing the Department’s thematic reports and other work product, in consultation with the Director and Deputy Director;
- Providing methodological support to Sections in conceptualizing thematic reports, for both internal and external use;
- Ensuring quality control of the Department’s work product within set instructions and deadlines;
- Ensuring that gender, youth and communities issues are mainstreamed across all work products;
- Taking minutes in departmental meetings, senior management meetings, and external meetings. Ensuring that Action Points are tasked and followed up;
- Liaising closely with Clearance Offices, DAS, Front Office, and other Departments, as needed and in accordance with relevant SOPs;
- Advising the Director on strategic direction of the Department;
- Representing the Department at external meetings;
- Performing other duties as required.
