The European Youth Capital is a title given to Tirana by the European Youth Forum, with the aim of empowering young people to promote their participation in strengthening European identity.

Tirana as a new European city was given the chance to present its innovative ideas, projects and activities that aim to empower young people and bring a new youth perspective in all aspects of city life.

TEYC2022 is presented as a macro program that will last 365 days, during which a calendar of projects with numerous initiatives and activities will be given life, which will cover a wide range of topics and priorities that focus on Youth.

This program aims to empower the Youth by creating new opportunities and giving it a European dimension. Among other things, the program aims to:

  • bring about positive change;
  • encourage active participation;
  • to promote volunteerism;
  • to promote European identity;
  • to promote and protect diversity and all inclusion;
  • empower youth organizations;
  • increase investment in youth;
  • transform the city into an international meeting point;
  • create networks and synergies among young people from all over Europe.

TEYC2022 will be implemented through 8 Programs, which stand as supporting pillars of the entire Activ∞ macro program.


Description of Calls


The Call for Project Ideas aims to support civil society organizations, informal groups and individuals who will be funded to implement the envisaged TEYC2022 programs.

The Call for Collaborators aims to identify projects and initiatives that are under implementation or will begin their implementation during 2022 and that are related to components of the TEYC 2022 program.

Together and within the Tirana Youth European Capital 2022 program, these calls enable the multiplication of results and guarantee the sustainability of initiatives for young people and those who work with young people in Albania.


How to apply in the Call for Ideas?


Any civil society organization / Informal group / individual who meet the criteria according to point 5 of Annex no. 5 “Project Ideas Completion Guide” within TEYC2022, can apply by submitting:

  1. Completed Project Idea Format (Annex No. 1)
  2. Estimated budget by activities (Annex No. 2)
  3. Identification and / or supporting documents (Annex No. 3)

The documents listed above should be sent to the e-mail address:  within 9 January 2022 at 17:00.

Documents, according to the criteria of Annex no. 3, will be physically delivered during the negotiation phase at the request of KRK staff.

Purpose of the Call for Collaborators:


Projects and / or initiatives will be offered to be part of the TEYC2022 calendar without financial resource support and will have the opportunity to:

  • carry out mutual promotion (respect for logos or symbols, distribution of messages on social networks and traditional media as well as the broad impact of young people at the local, national and international level;
  • massive partnership with the TEYC2022 network (central, local institutions, international organizations, universities, high schools, etc.);
  • multiplication of results and guaranteeing the sustainability of the initiatives undertaken, part of the TEYC2022 calendar.

How to apply in this Call for Collaborators?

Any civil society organization / informal group / individual / international partner that is implementing or will implement a project / initiative funded by a different donor with TEYC2022, can apply by submitting:

  • Completed document of Collaborator Form (Annex No. 7).
  • Identification and / or supporting documents according to point 2 below.

The application (Annex 7) and the documents according to point 2 below must be sent to the e-mail address:  within 9 January 2022 at 17:00.

The documents should be submitted only by e-mail and the subject of the e-mail should be specified “Application for the call for collaborators within Tirana European Youth Capital 2022”.

Supporting documentation required to apply for this call:

  • Civil Society Organizations should submit: CV of the organization.
  • Informal groups should submit: Any document proving the existence of the group, representative ID.
  • Individuals should submit: Valid ID.

The entities that will be part of the TEYC2022 calendar will enter into a cooperation agreement with the National Youth Congress, which will regulate the rights and obligations of each party.
