Observing the International Mind and Body Wellness Day

The first wealth is health. On January 3 we celebrate International Mind and Body Wellness Day, a day that is dedicated to the importance of our mental well being and how this affects our physical well being, both of which have been much tested these two past years.

Malcolm Forbes Jr., the publisher of Forbes magazine, once said that “Too many people undervalue what they are and overvalue what they’re not”. Does this sound familiar to you?

Since the New Year is the perfect time to reflect on our thoughts and our daily lives, we believe that January the 3rd is the perfect day to reflect on our mind and body wellness.

At the end of each year, we usually write down new year resolutions. Let’s be honest, how many times have you included the wellness of Bing?

To quote the author of “12 Rules of Life,”  Jordan B. Peterson: “Don’t underestimate the power of vision and direction. These are irresistible forces, able to transform what might appear to be unconquerable obstacles into traversable pathways and expanding opportunities. Strengthen the individual. Start with yourself. Take care with yourself. Define who you are. Refine your personality. Choose your destination and articulate your Being.” – you can write down  resolutions or not, but make sure to put at the top of daily-priorities the wellness of Being.

“You must keep the promises you make to yourself, and reward yourself, so that you can trust and motivate yourself. You need to determine how to act toward yourself so that you are most likely to become and to stay a good person.”

The hidden secret to getting results that last – is to never stop making improvements. This is a quote we have followed up in our daily activities from reading “Atomic Habits” by James Clear.

What’s this got to do with Lawyers?

Data show that lawyers spend 11.2 hours per week dealing with challenges related to document creation and management. At least 6 hours of these are wasted time.

Long hours of research, negotiation and drafting process, might lead to a mild form of  burnout, also known as a form of exhaustion that is experienced emotionally, mentally, and physically.

According to the World Health OrganizationMental health is a state of well-being in which an individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and is able to make a contribution to his or her community.

We consider our community more than a ‘collection of lawyers’. Connected by profession, Legit aims not only to revolutionize the legal industry, but also to make every lawyer’s life easier through contract’s automatization.

As humans, we need automatization for our bodies to function as a well-rehearsed orchestra. This way we create stable and reliable habits, less complex and more predictable.

As professionals we need automatization for our working hours to be more efficient, and avoid burnouts.

According to Jaya Jaya Myra, a wellness expert, the formula to help you focus on mind and body harmony is the following:

W — Work-Life Harmony

E — Expect & Enable Excellence

L — Live Your Purpose

L — Love, not Fear

Legit’s formula is this:

Key takeaways
